Liposuction

AB etching PROCEDURE

zonas-liposuccion.jpg

Liposuction is one the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures performed. It helps to remove excess fat from places where it is usually accumulated, by using cannulas of different diameters and through small incisions suck fat deposits. This technique may be combined with liposculpture, in which extracted fat is used to contour some areas such as buttocks, etc.

Recent advances in liposuction have developed the ability to destroy fat cells and to promote a less traumatic surgery with a faster recovery, which is why two major trends have come out. VASER ultrasonic liposuction and laser assisted liposuction.

VASER Ultrasonic liposuction

The Vaser ultrasound causes in adipocytes a phenomenon of implosion, that is, when adipocytes are exposed to these ultrasound waves, they break up which makes the removal through the cannulas much easier. It has also been observed an improvement in shrinkage and skin adhesion.

SmartLipo (Laser-assisted Liposuction).

It works the same as the Ultrasonic vaser does, except, a laser beam is used to destroy the adipocyte. This technique has gone trendy due to the advertising, although it is not demonstrated its superiority among others techniques mentioned previously.

MICROAIRE (PAL LIPOSUCTION)

Recently we are using it for all our procedures,  is just the use of a vibrating handpiece and cannula to help reduce the energy a surgeon needs to expend to complete a liposuction procedure. It is also great for high volumes because the unit helps to remove the fat with a lot less trauma that traditional liposuction. Use of PAL requires less recovery time and causes less bruising and swelling for patients.

Hi- Def Liposuction

Dr Garcia is expert in HI DEF liposuction, this type of procedure is much more meticulous and requires skill, expertise and specialized training. In this procedure the muscle is "etched" removing the fat around muscle and highlighting the natural lines and creases. We prefer not done on a patient with a BMI>29. This involves using the VASER, MICROAIRE and specialized suction cannulas. Best candidates are people with small fat deposits and good skin tone.

Am I a Good candidate?

Usually, the right patient for liposuction is one with fat deposits in different parts of the body and proper elasticity of the skin that has not responded well to dieting or exercise. It is recommended for patients who are overweight but not obese since the result might not be right.

What can be achieved by the Liposuction?

Liposuction can shape the body in a harmonious and natural way, highlighting those natural body contours that make a torso look stylized and healthy. It is not a weight loss surgery, neither a surgery to improve cellulite. It is a surgery for body contouring mainly.

What areas that can be treated by liposuction?

There are multiple areas that can be treated by this procedure. Abdomen, thighs, hips, upper and lower back, arms, knees, jowl.

How is the procedure done?

The procedure is performed in an operating room at a licensed clinic, under general or local anesthesia, a tumescent solution percolates, then whether an ultrasound or laser is used, any of them will melt localized fat and this emulsified fat is sucked through cannulas, which are connected to a suction or vacuum apparatus.
